What is it?
“Respite care means taking a break from caring, while the person you care for is looked after by someone else”.
Braid Health and Wellbeing are here to help you take some time out from your caring responsibilities, so that you can look after your own wellbeing. Respite care prevents you becoming exhausted and run down and allows you to look after your family member or friend better in the long run.
There are lots of respite care options. They range from getting a paid carer coming to your home to sit with the person you look after for a few hours, to occasionally attending a day centre for a full day where they can receive specialist support including personal care and social interventions.
Braid Health and Wellbeing are experts in supporting people with aging conditions and we are now offering respite support in client’s homes.
How much will it cost?
The cost is £19 per carer per hour for visits and support at home
(At present we can only offer Tuesdays for this service but if successful we will add extra days over the next few weeks)
